By the last day of the trip with my parents, we were all pretty knackered but had really enjoyed all the trips and catching up. It was great for Peter to have both sets of Grandparents on hand to dote over him and give him lots of attention.
We still managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the Yard for Coffee and the bird reserve at Castle Espie. Peter’s growing fondness of animals has extended from cats, dogs to ducks now! They got some big “ooo”s and shouts of excitement as they waddled past him. They’ve built some very impressive twitcher hides … the thatch one was amazing. I wouldn’t mind a replica in our garden for working or playing in.
Soon it was time to take Mum & Dad to the airport. We’re so glad we at last organised this reunion between our parents. It was brill.
